HBO Monday: Helen Thomas at the Podium

Tomorrow evening, HBO will air an original documentary made by the longtime film maker Rory Kennedy, documenting the career of Helen Thomas, the White House reporter who has interviewed every president since John F. Kennedy, Jr. If you need a reminder of who Helen Thomas is, I’ll let Stephen Colbert show her doing what she does best, starting at 1:52 into this video from the 2006 White House Correspondents’ Dinner:

It just so happens that Rory Kennedy is the youngest of 11 children by Robert and Ethel Kennedy. Joe Strupp from Editor and Publisher, has a very intriguing piece detailing the Kennedy connection further, including Ethel’s involvement in the film. Now at 88 years old and still asking questions better than Gregory, Raddatz or any of the other slouches in that room, Thomas is an icon with her abilities and tenacity to do what a journalist should do and we’re certainly looking forward to the show tomorrow evening.
